Marine Facade of St. Petersburg starts the passenger navigation

Passenger Port of St. Petersburg "Marine Façade" will open this year's passenger navigation on April 30 when a Silja Festival ferry docks at the new port of St. Petersburg to set sail on the Baltic Sea four-day cruise tour. The ferry can accommodate in its six hundred cabins about 1.500 tourists. The ship will call twice at St. Petersburg port this year season.

The construction of Marine Façade Passenger Port of St. Petersburg began in 2006 to be carried out in three phases. The first phase of the project meant construction of two berths, a cruise terminal building and onshore facilities. In September 2008, the first ship docked at the port.

The third construction phase is under way, scheduled to be completed in 2010. The Port’s projected facilities will allow accommodation of cruise and ferry vessels up to 311-m length, of maximum draft of 9 m that could dock at 7 berths. The projected length of the quay wall is 2.108 meters. The approach canals will be 10-km long and 11-meter deep.
