The solid gain was due, the company says, to a package plan aimed at improving the profitability of the business, including measures to reduce costs and optimize pricing amid container traffics revival.
The volume of the Company’s container platforms traffic for the first three months declined by 5% over the same period in 2009 and amounted to 254,000 TEUs, of which inland traffics reached 158,000 TEUs, international traffic to 96,000 TEUs. The volume of cargo transportation by the company’s own containers in Q1,10 was up 24% from Q1,09, 122,000 TEUs. The TC’s Terminals handled 343,000 TEUs, or 11% above the level of the first quarter of 2009.
