Germany’s Greens give the green light to Nord Stream

The ecologists of Germany’s Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, who had been actively protesting against Nord Stream project, have withdrawn their claim at the Administrative Court in Greifswald, Germany, ITAR-TASS reports. Thus, the last obstacle to construction of the North European gas pipeline via the Baltic Sea has been removed.

Nord Stream officials have settled the issue with the Germany ecologists. This was confirmed by Steffen Ebert, a representative of the Consortium. "We are pleased that we’ve managed to find a joint solution in favor of the Baltic Sea", Mr.Ebert said.
