The company, implementing the FCC’s multi-modal project ‘From the dispatch station to the vessel’s FOB,’ has loaded 22 tons of coal shipment onto Pomerania bulker at the central port of Riga (Latvia). The coal cargo owned by Mechel Group, is being carried to the Baltic ports from the Kiyzak station of West-Siberian Railroad (Kuzbass). FCC as a single logistics operator takes full responsibility for the transshipment of coal at the port. FCC jointly with Mechel projected to transport about 100,000 tons of cargoes a month.
The Company believes the project could be an important step in a bid of FCC to integrate into the port infrastructure. "We are considering different directions and will be offering our services wherever there are free port facilities. Our next step is the provision of freight services", Mr. Babayev was quoted as saying.
