NUTEP boosts six-month cargo volume by 38.2%, to 65,529 TEUs

Freight turnover at Novorossiysk Nodal Transport and Forwarding Company (NUTEP) in the first half of the year reached 65,529 TEUs, a 38.2-percent rise over the same period of 2009, the National Container Company press service said, (NCC manages NUTEP).

In June container trade via the NUTEP terminal rose to 7,529 TEUs, a 10.25-percent gain from June 2009.
 
NUTEP terminal transshipped in June 3,900 TEUs of outbound and 3,629 TEUs of inbound cargoes, 67% of laden and 33% of empty containers. Monthly number of ships handled at the terminal totaled 11 units. Average turnover per vessel amounted to 684 TEUs.

National Container Company (NCC) is the largest and leading container operator in Russia. The owners of the NCC in equal shares are the First Quantum Group and the FESCO Transport Group. In 2009 the total volumes via NCC’s containers terminals amounted to some 1.2 million TEUs, contributing 42.1% to overall output at Russian container ports.
