As from today the permitted bunker fuel sulphur content is one per cent in the ECAs (Emisson Control Areas). The former limit was 1.5 per cent. The Baltic Sea is an ECA.
As from January 1, 2015, the permitted sulphur content will be lowered to 0.1 per cent.
