BLRT Group is considering providing its repair services for vessels that call at the Russian ports in the Baltic Sea, BC reports citing Äripäev.ee/LETA.
“During the part few years, Russia has completed the construction of a number of ports on the Baltic Sea shore – such as Ust Luga, Vysotsk and Primorsk,” Fjodor Berman, the CEO and BLRT Group’s major stockholder was quoted as saying. Mr Berman noted that the vessels calling at these ports are passing relatively close by BLRT’s Finnish shipyard Turku Repairyard. “Today one of the planned development directions includes considering of this market segment,” added Mr. Berman.
According to him, Turku Repairyard’s provides currently repair services for the Finnish state-owned ice-breakers of Neste Oil and Tallinkand Viking Line.
The Turku Repairyard has been part of BLRT Group since June 2007. The company’s dry dock is the biggest on the Baltic Sea. The Finnish shipyard’s capacity allows repairing all vessels operating in the Baltic Sea.
Turku Repairyard has recently completed repair and reconstruction of the Russian polar flagship Academic Fyodorov for the research trip to the Arctic.
