TRANSSTROY, SIBUR sign a RUB 1,25bn contract for Ust-Luga LPG terminal

TransStroy Holding and Sibur-PortEnergo LLC have signed a contract worth 1,25 billion rubles for construction of a terminal for handling liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in the port of Ust-Luga, the company-contractor press service said.

This is the third contract of TransStroy for construction of the facility. The project consists of 3 phases. The company has been implementing two of them. The total cost of the Transstroy’s terminal project reaches 4,75 billion rubles. According to the preliminary estimate the cost of construction of the entire handling complex might reach 9,5 billion rubles).

According to the 3rd contract terms TransStroy will complete the construction of a 692-m offshore pier, 2 berths and platforms.  

Earlier, the company had completed construction of reclamation works at the terminal territory, construction of access dam for the hydroelectric structure zone, 2 railway tracks and access roads, storage fields with a system of pipelines and engineering utilities, a tank car loading depot, the repair shop and office buildings.

The new export terminal of Sibur in Ust-Luga port was designed for handling LPG and light oil from railroad tank cars, storage and loading the export cargo onto LPG carriers and tankers. The design of the complex started in 2007. The terminal projected capacity is 1,5 million tons of LPG and 2,5 million tons of light oil annually. The new terminal encompasses about 140 ha of coastline. The completion and commissioning of terminal is scheduled for Q4, 2012.

To implement the terminal project SIBUR holding created its own subsidiary SIBUR-Portenergo.
