Logistika-Terminal authorized to handle dangerous cargoes

CJSC Logistika-Terminal this October was licensed for loading / unloading dangerous goods carried by rail transport, the company said. Now, Logistika-Terminal will greatly expand the range of import / export cargoes handled at the terminal.

To obtain the license the company had developed the "Plan of Localization and Response to Emergency Situations," including all the necessary measures for each class of dangerous goods allowed for handling on the railways. The plan has been approved and endorsed by MOE, the company said.

National Container Company, which includes Logistika-Terminal, expects an increase in general cargo volumes handled at a transit warehouse.

Shushary-based Logistika-Terminal is an off-dock container facility of Big Port St.Petersburg. LT infrastructure includes container terminal, empty container depot, container freight station (CFS), vast warehousing and distribution facilities, convenient motor/railroad approach. LT was the first Russia’s terminal to start operating as “dry port”. Dry port technology gives possibility to transport containers from the sea terminal (FCT) to the off-dock facility in Shushary (LT) in bond under the simplified scheme of customs control for further customs clearance, storage and distribution.
