Cargo volume handled by Vanino Commercial Sea Port" (Port Vanino) in January-October of 2011 dropped by 5.3 percent year-on-year to 4,868,700 tons, the stevedore company said.
Outbound cargoes handled at the company’s terminals totaled 2,128,900 tons (-7%), including 765,400 tons of timber cargo, 102,200 tons of aluminum and 1, 237,100 tons of coal.
Ten-month volume of inbound cargoes rose by 11.9 percent to 1,208,300 tons, including 1,044,600 tons of alumina and 104,700 tons of petroleum coke.
In the reporting period, Port Vanino transshipped 267,300 tons of coastal cargo, of which 151,000 tons of coal. Throughput of Vanino - Kholmsk ferry line fell 4 percent to1,264,200 tons.
From January to October the company handled 57,000 vessels, including 577 ferries and 46,100 railcars.
Container traffic totaled 6,200 TEUs.
JSC Vanino Commercial Sea Port (Port Vanino) is the major operator of Port of Vanino (Khabarovsk Territory). The port is a transshipment hub for trade flows between Russia and Japan, South Korea, China, Australia, USA and other countries of Asia Pacific Region. Port Vanino also handles imports shipped to the northern regions of Russia. The company operates the waterfront of about 2.5-km with three specialized cargo handling facilities. In 2010 throughput of Port Vanino rose 0.2 percent year-over-year to about 6 million tons.
