Corpus Christi port sells 185 acres to logistics firm

Texas' Port of Corpus Christi approved the $66 million sale of 185.5 acres at a decommissioned naval base to a logistics company that plans to build an offshore drilling service facility, the Journal of Commerce reported.

Canyon Supply & Logistics will build a $250 million facility similar to the one the company built at Port Fourchon, La., according to the Corpus Christi Caller-Times. The land is part of the former Ingleside Naval Station, which reverted to port ownership when the base was closed early last year.

The former naval base covers 483 acres with more than 70 buildings. The port also has 465 acres of undeveloped adjacent property.
