Coal exports from Rosterminalugol terminal grow to 41 million tons

Coal transshipments through Ust-Luga-based Rosterminalugol Terminal since the facility commissioning (May 20, 2003) have reached 41 million tons, the company said.


As of November 10, the 41 millionth ton of coal was loaded to the Genco Vigour. Year-to-date coal throughput of Rosterminalugol rose to 9 million tons.


JSC Rosterminalugol was established in 1996 to build and operate the coal terminal at Port of Ust-Luga. The terminal’s projected annual capacity is 8 million tons of coal. Rosterminalugol specializes in loading / unloading operations, freight forwarding services, building and maintenance of facilities at the coal terminal. The company also provides insurance services for goods and property, the risks of transactions at Ust-Luga port. The terminal has two berths of total length of 540 meters and depth of 14 meters. The terminal can handle vessels with length of 240 m and breadth of 32.2 m. In 2010, coal exports from the terminal rose nearly 6% to 7.5 million tons.
