An Emergencies Ministries team rescued on November 13, 202 people from a detached ice floe on the river of Kama in Tatarstan, the regional EMERCOM said.
The floe broke away some 300 meters off the bank near the village of Atabaevo of Laishevsky district of the republic. The width of the river there is 7 km, the depth - 10-15 meters, the river current speed is 1 km / hour. The floe was drifting to the Kama river mouth. There were 2 helicopters, 6 boats of the rescue team and the locals, a private-owned pusher tug and 2 hovercrafts engaged in rescuing the people, who were successfully transported to the riverside.
