ICTT starts first weekly service to Europe

DP World Cochin, the operator of the the International Container Transshipment Terminal (ICTT), has announced the commencement of its first weekly mainline service to Europe from the terminal, IBN reports. The NEMO/EAX Service, conducted by Hapag Lloyd-CMA CGM consortium, will make a weekly call at ICTT making it the first weekly service vessel connecting Kochi directly with Europe. MV Lahore Express, the Hong Kong flagged vessel berthed at the ICTT on Monday with an exchange of 550 TEUs of containers
will make service calls to major base ports in Europe, such as Genoa, Tilbury, Hamburg, Rotterdam and Le Havre.
“Commencement of the NEMO/EAX Service from ICTT will offer the trade in this region faster transit and reduced supply chain cost. This is also a recognition for the technological advancements at ICTT,” said K K Krishnadas, CEO, DP World Cochin.
