SeaFreight inaugurates Port Everglades terminal

SeaFreight Agencies opened its new 25-acre container terminal at Port Everglades, and the Caribbean carrier plans to boost its volume 23 percent through the Floridian port over the next six years, the Journal of Commerce reported.

The Southport Phase VIIA/VIII terminal is part of a 41-acre, $12.3 million expansion at Port Everglades. Crowley Liner Services has added 11 acres to the 68 acres it previously occupied at the port.

SeaFreight operates eight container ships with twice-weekly sailings to and from Port Everglades. Before moving into the new terminal, SeaFreight handled cargo through other terminals at the port. The company’s 10-year terminal lease includes volume guarantee of a 23 percent volume boost in the first six years.
