Taman terminal throughput soars 4.1 times to 706,000 tons

Handling of inbound cargo at Food Ingredients’ terminal based in the port of Taman for the past ten months increased by 4.1 times year-over-year, to 706,000 tons, the Port Authority said. Vegetable oil imports amounted to 547,800 tons.

Food Ingredients LLC is one of the investors and developers of the southern Russian seaport of Taman. In 2008, The company commissioned the first phase of “Food Ingredients” handling complex, a facility for production of specialized oils. Currently, the company is building the second phase of the complex, a facility for handling loose cargoes - a grain terminal, including a silo, berths and a railyard. In 2010, the stevedore handled 247,420 tons.
