New Admiralty Bridge project postponed, St. Petersburg authorities say

The project to build the New Admiralty Bridge in St. Petersburg can not be considered canceled, a City Administration official said.


Boris Murashov, head of the Municipal Committee on Transport Development told the 3rd Forum "Future Petersburg" that “the project was just suspended for a little while,” JSC Institute Stroiproekt reported.


Initially, the new 256m-long, 32m-wide bridge across the Neva River was scheduled to be completed not later than August 31, 2013. The bridge project was valued RUB 5.1 billion. Customer - St. Petersburg Directorate of Transport Construction, Chief Designer - JSC Institute Stroiproject. After resignation of St. Petersburg former governor Valentina Matvienko, the project’s future turned to be uncertain.
