Russia plans to build a series of new nuclear-powered icebreakers, an Atomflot official said.
“In the former Soviet Union 510 enterprises were participating in the construction of icebreaker "Lenin" at the time. That was the cooperation of enterprises, factories, and now here it will be the international cooperation. The new nuclear-powered icebreaker will feature the cutting-edge technology as well Russian as the world’s," Deputy Director for Development of Atomflot Stanislav Golovin said, speaking at the Round Table "Arctic Transportation System as a Fundamental Factor in the Region’s Development."
