The Assembly of the International Maritime Organization has elected Russia at IMO Council member for the 2012-2013 biennium, the Organization press release said.
Russia was elected along with 10 states of Category A, including China, Greece, Italy, Japan, Norway, Panama, Republic of Korea, United Kingdom and United States, which have the largest interest in providing international shipping services.
