Almaz Shipbuilding Company on November 25, 2011 held keel-laying ceremony for patrol boat of project 22120, the shipbuilding firm said Friday.
The ice-class patrol / interceptor boat was designed by PetroBalt Design Bureau. The vessel is intended for patrolling offshore area and interception of illegal fishing in Russian territorial waters.
Ship's main features: length overall - 71 m, beam - 10,5 m, draft - 3.37 m, displacement - about 1,023 tons, cruising range – 6,000 miles, endurance -20 days, max speed - 24 knots, crew - 18 people.
Almaz Shipbuilding Company is located on Petrovsky Island of St. Petersburg, in close proximity to the Gulf of Finland. The yard’s encompasses 165sq km. Modern slip docks, two floating docks of 2500 and 3000 tons enable the firm to produce a full cycle of ship construction in the shop. The enterprise provides ranged services for repair, renovation and conversion of vessels. Both Almaz Shipbuilding Co and another St. Petersburg-based shipbuilder Almaz Marine Yard specialize in construction of HSCs, JHSVs and ACVs for the Russian Federal Border Service and the Russian Navy. The shipbuilding firm employs 1000 people.
