Cargo throughput of the ports of Russia in 2011 is forecasted at about 550 million tons, executive director of Association of Sea Commercial Ports (ASOP) Serik Zhusupov said in St. Petersburg.
He said that at present the capacity of the port is more than 730 million tons per year, and it is expected to grow to 1.7m tons by 2030.
Ten-month cargo volume handled at Russian seaports this year increased year-over-year by 0.8% to 443.9 million tons.
