FESCO projects transport and logistics hub near Moscow

FESCO Group has received from Russian Railways engineering specifications for design and construction of a $134m transport and logistics center (TLC) and a container railyard at the station Usady - Moscow District Railways, the Group said Tuesday.


The transport and logistics hub will be located 50 km from Moscow, close to the federal highway "Don". The TLC projected annual capacity will be 300,000 TEUs, the annual volume of consolidated cargo is 120,000 tons. FESCO will be financing the facility construction through its own funds and  $100 million loan from European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).


TLC will include an outdoor container yard for storage of loaded and empty boxes, indoor warehousing facility encompassing 20,000 sqm with a fridge for storage of 3,000 tons of perishable goods, and a covered platform for simultaneous handling of twelve boxcars.


FESCO Transport Group is a leading Russian integrated transport and logistics company. The Group owns a fleet of more than 800,000DWT to carry 18,000 TEUs. The Group manages a diversified fleet of its own railway rolling stock of over 17,000 units. Its own container fleet is about 50,000 TEUs. The total container and general cargo throughput of the Group’s port facilities reaches 290,000 TEUs and 7,5 million tons, respectively.
