Atomflot’s nuclear-powered icebreaker reaches the Baltic Sea

The icebreaker 50 Years of Victory, which set sail from Murmansk port on January 27, is now in the area of Sassnitz (Germany), in the Baltic Sea, heading for the Gulf of Finland at a speed of about 15 knots.

The nuclear-powered icebreaker owned by FSUE "Atomflot" was chartered by Rosmorport to join the fleet of diesel-electric icebreakers providing icebreaking assistance to merchant ships in the Gulf.
