Atomflot’s icebreaker commences escort of Primorsk-bound tankers

The nuclear-powered icebreaker ‘50 Years of Victory", which has just arrived in the Russian section of the Gulf of Finland starts providing ice-breaking assistance to oil tankers sailing to / from the port of Primorsk, the Authority of Big Port St. Petersburg said.


The nuclear-powered icebreaker owned by Atomflot was time-chartered by Rosmoport for 100 days to beef up a fleet of diesel-powered icebreakers ensuring safe navigation in the ice covered Gulf.
