KSCP cargo volumes down 14.5 percent in January

Cargo throughput at Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port (KSCP, KMTP) in January 2012 decreased by 14.5% year-on-year to 228,200 tons, the stevedore company press release said.


Handling of oil products rose by 9.9% to 46,600 tons, shipments of coal and coke plummeted by 78.3% to 3,000 tons, exports of scrap metal fell by 10.9% to 9,000 tons. Container throughput grew by 43.5% to 11,169 TEUs.


JSC Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port is a stevedore company operating at the Port of Kaliningrad. The port is a gateway for intermodal traffic and major exports / imports flows passing through the region. In 2011, KSCP handled 3,618,000 tons.
