The GRI applies to all westbound cargo from Asia and Indian sub-continent to North Europe, West/East Mediterranean (including Israel) and Black-sea region.
"This update is necessary in order to maintain our current levels of service and high reliability," the ZIM statement said.
Israel-based ZIM Integrated Shipping Services Ltd., founded in 1945, is a global ocean carrier operating a fleet of over 100 modern vessels of total carrying capacity of over 337,000 TEU. The fleet includes the recently introduced mega-vessels of 8,000 and 10,000 TEU’s. Zim operates about 358,806 containers (582,000 in TEU terms) of various types, of which 34,250 are special equipment.
The Israel Corporation holds 98% of Zim shares. The Ofer Group is the majority shareholder of the Israel Corporation (57%), with the remaining shares held by Bank Leumi L’Israel (20%) and the public. The Israel Corporation’s shares are listed on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE: ILCO).
