For the year 2011, Yangzijiang had in total secured 21 shipbuilding contracts with an aggregate value of $1.21bn.
The Chinese firm is aiming to expand its shipbuilding capacity to 7.29m dwt by 2013 at its four yards, up from the present 2.5m dwt.
