The Port of Rotterdam, Europe's largest port, denies being in talks with Russia's Transportation Ministry on establishing a joint management company to lead the construction of a Black Sea a port in Taman, Minco van Heezen, an official representative of the Port of Rotterdam, told RBC.
"We are not negotiating to join the Taman port and have no such intentions, and Russian authorities haven't contacted us on this issue," he said.
This comment from the Port of Rotterdam came after several media reports claimed today that Russia's Transportation Ministry was in talks with the Port of Rotterdam over its involvement in the construction of a port in Taman. Management companies running ports in Amsterdam and Hamburg were also named among potential investors.
