Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has approved the list of priority investment projects of the North-West Federal District, which included five projects for the Murmansk region, including integrated development of the Murmansk Transport Hub (MTH), the regional authorities said.
The public and private investments in the region’s development may reach more than RUB 200 billion.
The ambitious Murmansk Transport Hub project aims to boost the capacity of the Murmansk transport hub for handling freight flows passing through the Northern Sea Route, the international transport corridor "North - South", as well as hydrocarbons volumes from offshore fields. The project plans the development and modernization of JSC "Murmansk Commercial Sea Port", construction of new port transshipment facilities, marine container and logistics terminals, the creation of a network of access roads and railways, as well as other objects.
