Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has signed a decree on the early termination of office of the Governor of Primorsky Territory (Krai) Sergei Darkin and on the appointment of Vladimir Miklushevsky as Interim Governor of the region, the Kremlin press office said. Sergei Darkin had served as Primorsky Krai Gov. for three terms (since 2001).
Vladimir Miklushevsky, who replaced Mr. Darkin, was born in 1967. In 1990, Mr Miklushevsky graduated from the Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys (MISIS), majoring in metallurgical engineering. In 2002-2003, he passed retraining program "Director of Economics and Finance" at the Academy of National Economy and graduate school at MISIS. In 1993 he started his career at the MISIS Department of Rare Metals and Powder Metallurgy. In 2008 he was appointed Deputy Minister of Education and Science and two years later was named the Chancellor of the Far Eastern Federal University.
