Russian Govt set to expand Port of Vysotsk
The Russian Government has decided to expand the port of Vysotsk based in Leningrad region through annexation of adjacent to its boundaries land and waters, the government press office said.
"…To expand the port of Vysotsk (Leningrad region) by inclusion in the (port’s) boundaries of ground areas and adjacent waters occupied by the facilities being under construction at Cape Putevaya of the general cargo marine terminal of capacity of up to 3 million tons a year," the document said.
The Ministry of Transport of Russia was instructed to submit within one month a draft document of the Government of the Russian Federation to change the boundaries of the sea port of Vysotsk in accordance with this order.
Port of Vysotsk is located in the Leningrad region. There are currently two major stevedoring companies operating at the port: "Port Vysotsky" LLC and "RPK-Vysotsk-Lukoil-II» LLC. In 2011, cargo throughput at the port totaled 13.42 million tons.
