NYK to launch new Thailand-Vietnam-Canton service
Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) and Regional Container Lines (RCL) will launch a new joint service, the Thailand-Vietnam-Canton (TVC) service, from the middle of May. the Company's current joint service with Vinalines Container Shipping Company, the Thailand-Vietnam-Singapore (TVS) service, will be terminated at the same time.
The TVC service will be operated using three 1,000 TEU vessels. NYK will deploy one vessel, and RCL will deploy two vessels for this new joint service. The first vessel will be MV Chana Bhum V.010N calling Bangkok on May 13.
Ports of call for the 21-day rotation will be as follows: Bangkok (Sun/Mon), Laem Chabang (Mon/Tue), Haiphong (Sat/Sun), Shekou (Tue/Tue), Hong Kong (Tue/Thu), Haiphong (Fri/Sat), Hong Kong (Mon/Tue), Shekou (Tue/Wed), and Bangkok.
TVC will not only improve the transit time from Thailand to North Vietnam to four days, the fastest in the market, but also strengthen the service network from South PRC to Vietnam and Thailand.
