Port Fleet’s tugs escort two more FSOs at St. Petersburg harbor
Tugboats of CJSC Port Fleet have successfully assisted in deployment of the second and third Floating Storage and Offloading (FSO) vessels at the outer anchorage of Big Port St. Petersburg, the towing company told PortNews.
The 157,000DWT tanker NS Burgas (owner Novoship) was installed at the 5A outer anchorage off Kronstadt 5A (Big Port St. Petersburg) on May 8, 2012. The installation of the 157,000DWT tanker NS Bravo (the same owner) on 9 May 2012 was assisted by three tugboats Evgeniy Kocheshkov, Sestroretsk and Neptune.
PortNews has reported previously that the first FSO unit - the 167,000dwt tanker PRISCO Mizar (owner SASCO) was deployed by Port Fleet’s tugs at the same location on May 5th.
All three FSOs will be operated in the 2012 navigation by In-Transit (the company carries out offshore transshipment of oil products in Big Port St. Petersburg). The units are utilized for exports of fuel oil and vacuum gas oil (VGO), transported by river tankers of capacity of 5,000 tons through the Volga-Balt system from refineries located along the Russian inland waterways. In the 2011 summer navigation In-Transit transshipped 4072 tons of Russian oil products, a 11% gain as compared to 2010’s figure. Last year, the company had deployed in the outer anchorage of Big Port St. Petersburg three FSOs.
