CPV handles first vessel carrying cargoes to northern regions
Commercial Port of Vladivostok (CPV, member of Transportation Group FESCO) has handled a cargo vessel in the framework of the so-called “northern deliveries”, the CPV press release said.
The M/V Geroi (Hero) is the first ship this year, which was loaded with 1,000 tons of construction materials - cement, metal profiles, gravel and lumber to be delivered to the ports of Chukotka. The M/V Geroi is bound for the port of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, where she will be loaded with coal and sail further to the shores of the Chukchi Autonomous Okrug ship in June.
The cargoes are shipped to remote northern regions by tramp vessels. The calls schedule is adjusted as the cargoes are formed for loading. In June, new FESCO Anadyr Direct Line (FADL) container line starts operating with regular calls at the ports of Anadyr, Egvekinot and Providence. The round trip is 20 days, departures - every 20 days, the transit time of delivery - 8 days from the date of departure.
In August, the cargoes are scheduled for delivery to the port of Pevek.

The company’s fleet comprises 67 vessels of total 900,000 DWT. FESCO is the biggest operator of Russian ice-breaking fleet. The total container and general cargo throughput at the Group’s port facilities reaches 430,000 TEUs and 6 million tons, respectively.
