Rosmorport to order survey vessel for Sakhalin branch
A large survey ship is planned to be ordered for the needs of the Sakhalin branch of Rosmorport, the agency’s regional office deputy head Anatoly Shushakov told Sakhalin-Kurils.
The ship is scheduled for delivery to the island in the first half of 2014. The vessel will be operated as a navaids tender, for installation and maintenance of onshore and offshore aids to navigation (lighthouses, radio beacons, day buoys and light marks, etc.), as well as to research the bottom topography, currents, and radar mapping of the coast.
Anatoly Shushakov said the survey vessel will operate not only in the port areas of Sakhalin and the Kuriles, but also in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatka, and Anadyr.
