Crude exports via BTC to reach 20mln bbl in June
Estimated volume of crude oil exports via Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline (BTC) from Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli" oil fields (ACG) in June 2012 will total 20 million barrels of oil, 1news.az reports citing Azerbaijan State Oil Company (SOCAR) statistics.
Of the total May export oil shipment, 12.5 mln bbl of will be Azerbaijan profitable oil.
In 2011, SOCAR exported through Baku-Ceyhan pipeline 37 million tons of crude oil. Overall, since the commissioning in June 2006 of BP PLC-operated Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline (BTC), crude shipments through the port of Ceyhan has totaled 184.09 million tons.
The crude oil supplied through BTC and exported to the world market is extracted from "Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli" oil fields (ACG) and condensate from the gas-condensate field "Shakh-Deniz" based in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea. Besides, after signing in July 2010 a new agreement some volumes of crude oil is supplied from Turkmenistan and Tengiz field in Kazakhstan. BTC capacity is 1.2 million brl/d.
The BTC Co. stockholders are: BP (30.1%); AzBTC (25,00%); Chevron (8.90%); StatoilHydro (8.71%); TPAO (6.53%); ENI (5.00%); Total (5.00%), Itochu (3.40%); INPEX (2.50%), ConocoPhillips (2,50%), and Hess (2.36%).
