Russian coal exports jump 21.1 percent to 50.81 mln tons

Coal exports from Russia in January-May 2012 increased by 21.1% (8.849 million tons) from a year earlier, to 50.81 million tons, the Russian Energy Ministry statistics said.

In May, coal shipments rose 16.4% (1,561,000 tons) compared to the same period last year, to 11.106 million tons. Coal production in May rose 6.9 % to 27.436 million tons (exported - 26,191 mln tons).
