ZNT Yard launches ice-class tug for Norilsk Nickel
Nizhny Novgorod-based ZNT Yard (ZNT) has launched the ice-breaking class tugboat of TG04M project named ‘Portovy-2’, the second vessel built at the shipyard for MMC Norilsk Nickel, the shipbuilding company said.
The Portovy-2 (Harbor-2) tugboat is designed for operations in the port of Dudinka. The lead ship of the series "Portovy-1" was delivered to the Polar Transport Branch of MMC Norilsk Nickel in September 2009. The Portovy-1 has been the first new-generation river tug over the past 10 years, built to operate on the inland waterways of Russia. The "Portovy-2" is the evolution of the project first tug designed by Marine Engineering Bureau.
The tugboat is designed for towing, canting operations using the bow anchor / mooring winch and for transportation of 12 dockworkers to / from offshore locations. The tug is equipped with a towing hook amidships and has bow icebreaker stem.
Ship’s main characteristics: LOA – 21.35 m, breadth overall – 6.61 m, DWL draft – 1.80 m.
Nizhny Novgorod region-based ZNT Yard (Zavod Nozhegorodsky Teplokhod) specializes primarily in the construction of buoy tenders, dive boats, harbor tugs and other workboats, as well as harbor equipment and marine engineering products.
