Bumi Armada unit wins Caspian Sea pipelay contract
Bumi Armada unit, Armada Marine Contractors Caspian has won a charter contract to lay about 15km of various sized pipelines in the Caspian Sea, off Turkmenistan, Seatrade Asia online reports.
The 30-day job starts from May or early June with the option to extend for another 15 days. Bumi Armada did not disclose the deal's value.
CEO Hassan Basma noted that its Armada Installer with its newly installed 825-tonne crane is one of two derrick pipelay barges in the landlocked Caspian Sea, and the company is optimistic of growth in the region as exports could more than double over the next 25 years.
