Kozmino Terminal’s Phase 2 may be commissioned by mid-autumn 2012
The second phase of Marine Oil Export Terminal "Spetsmornefteport Kozmino" based in Primorsky Territory is scheduled for commissioning no earlier than October 2012, the terminal operator told PortNews.
CEO of LLC "Spetsmornefteport Kozmino" Boris Melnikov said that the construction of the terminal’s waterfront has been completed. The works on the second berth and dredging will be completed by October this year.
Upon completion of Phase 2 of Kozmino Oil Terminal, which includes the construction of the last section of ESPO-2 pipeline, the facility’s annual capacity will be boosted from 15 million tons to 30 million tons. Over the five past months the Kozmino Terminal exported to the Asia-Pacific Region (APR) 6.4 million tons of crude oil.
Specialized Marine Oil Terminal Kozmino, operated by Spetsmornefteport Kozmino LLC (a subsidiary of Transneft), was commissioned in late 2009. Port Kozmino is the terminus of the ESPO Oil Pipeline (Eastern Siberia-Pacific Ocean). While the ESPO project is under construction the crude oil is being delivered to the terminal by the railroad.
