Phosphorite plant blamed for Luga river pollution
Eurochem had to recognize that the repeating increase in the concentration of phosphorus in the Luga River was associated with leaks from the territory of Phosphorite plant during the flood periods, the holding’s press service said.
Eurochem said it had implemented several measures, including the construction of waterways, dams, sliding valves, a pumping station, piping lines and systems for management of collected water, that would reduce the phosphorus leakage into the river and the Baltic Sea.
