Refinery project begins to take shape in Vostochny port
In the area of responsibility of the Vostochny Port Authority JSC Pacific Engineering Company is conducting geophysical survey, Harbour master Andrey Gorodishtyan told PortNews. The survey is conducted in the framework of a project for construction of Vostochny refinery with marine terminal for handling oil products.
"The work is carried out by a survey boat, having onboard measuring equipment. To date, the Krot drilling unit has completed first drilling. Besides, the divers began survey of the sea floor for the refinery pier construction ," the harbourmaster said.
The project includes the construction of a pier for mooring four tankers with a capacity of 10,000 tons. The project also includes an option for expansion of the mouth of the Hmylovka river to provide access for 5,000 tons vessels. As the Harbourmaster said, the construction work at the site could begin in July 2013. The future facility’s capacity will be some 15 million tons of oil products a year.
