SASCO gets multipurpose vessel Simushir
Sakhalin Shipping Company (SASCO) on June 21, 2012 took delivery in Shanghai a multi-purpose vessel, which was named M/V Simushir," the company’s press service said. This is the first boat SASCO has purchased this year SASCO in line with the company’s fleet upgrade plan. The same class second ship is expected to be commissioned into service next week.
The M/V Simushir, built in Holland in 1998, has 9150 DWT, a maximum container capacity - 604 TEUs, ice class 1A. The vessel is able to operate in the Arctic regions and the Far North.
