Oman Maritime Passport to be launched today
The Sultanate will celebrate today (Monday) the launching of Oman Maritime Passport as a number of Omani sailors will be given the maritime passports in a ceremony to be organized by the Transport and Communications Ministry at Grand Hyatt Muscat under the patronage Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed al-Futaisi, Transport and Communications Minister, ONA reports.
During the ceremony, one of the Omani sailors will deliver a speech on this occasion while the chief guest will honor the distinguished sailors and sponsoring companies.
It is worth mentioning that the International Maritime Organization (IMO) approved June 25th as the International Sailor's Day in appreciation for the sacrifices made by sailors while performing their duties.
The ceremony stems from the belief of the Transport and Communications Ministry on the importance of honoring the Omani sailors in recognition for their efforts in maintaining the safety of navigation and the security of vessels.
