Andrei Balashov to oversee navigation safety in Rosmorport’s NW branch
FSUE Rosmorport has appointed Andrei Balashov as Deputy Director responsible for Safety of Navigation at its northwest basin branch,
effective as of June 5th, the federal maritime authority press office said.
The new department was established to enhance interaction of different units of the branch to ensure shipping safety, the Rosmorport said.
In addition, Alexander Kuznetsov took over the office of Deputy Director, Capital Construction and Operation at the Rosmorport’s branch from V. Garnets who has resigned at his own request.
Andrei Balashov, 50, graduated from the Leningrad Higher Marine Engineering College named after Adm. Makarov, majoring in maritime navigation (OOW Navigational). In 1996, he was certified at the port St. Petersburg Authority and received his MM’s license.
From November 2008 to June 2012 he has served as the fleet service chief at the North-West basin branch of Rosmorport.
