  Port of Ust-Luga througput soars 2.2 times

  

  Freight traffic passing through the Port of Ust-Luga terminals in January-May 2012 surged as much as 2.2 times compared to the same period in 2011, to 15,272,645.140 tons. Shipments of imported vehicles jumped by 53% from a year earlier, to 72,768 units, the Ust-Luga Company said on Tuesday.
  
  In May 2012, cargo shipments through the port rose twofold to 4,450,225.241 tons. The number of imported vehicles transshipped during the month totaled 16,819 units (up 2.1 times).
  
  In 2011, cargo throughput at the Port of Ust-Luga amounted 22,737,260.482 tons and 133,837 cars. Ust-Luga Company is set to boost traffic volume to 180 million tons by 2020.
