Busan container throughput up 9.2% to1.54mln TEU in May
South Korea's main seaport Busan achieved a better set of results for container throughput in May, according to Busan Port Authority (BPA), Seatrade Asia online reports.
The port on the country's southeastern coast handled box throughput of 1.54m teu last month, an increase of 9.2% from 1.41m teu recorded in the same period of 2011.
May's throughput also improved month-on-month from 1.48m teu posted in April, statistics from BPA showed.
In the first five months of this year, Busan moved 7.1m teu of boxes, up 9.1% compared to 6.51m teu registered in the corresponding period of last year.
