Zim Container Service adds Halifax call to its rotation
ZIM’s ZCA Service will add the port of Halifax to its rotation, starting July 3rd. The new call will cut transit time on the westbound leg from the Mediterranean to Halifax to 7 days (from Tarragona, Spain), 8 days from Genova and 14 days from Haifa, thus significantly improving the services offered to Canada.
The decision to reinstate the Halifax call, served by Zim for many years, was taken in view of market conditions.
ZCA will call HALTERM terminal, thus adding a second weekly call in Halifax, currently served by ZIM Container Service Pacific (ZCP).
The adjusted rotation will be as follows:
Haifa - Piraeus - Genoa - Tarragona – Halifax - New York - Savannah - Kingston - Tarragona – Haifa
ZCA continues to offer a premium Service from the Caribbean, US Gulf and Central America Eastbound via our Kingston, Jamaica hub. It is also the only direct service from Israel to the US. In addition, ZCA offers an integral connection to US West Coast, as well as destinations in Central and South America via our network of regional services.
Rafi Ben Ari, ZIM VP Shipping: “The change is part of ZIM’s strategy to improve services based on market needs. We strive to put our customers at the center and improve our services to cater for their needs.”
