The Great Eastern Shipping Company has inked a contract to purchase a VLGC of about 49,700 dwt or 75,000 cu m, Seatrade Asia online reports.
The 1990-built vessel is expected to join GE Shipping during the second quarter of its 2013 financial year. Financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Mumbai-listed GE Shipping presently has a fleet of 32 vessels, comprising of 22 tankers and 10 dry bulk carriers, with an average age of 8.7 years aggregating 2.55m dwt.
