Gazprom: No TNK-BP bid for Nord Stream

Gazprom has not received any proposals from Anglo-Russian oil major TNK-BP on its involvement in the expansion of the Nord Stream pipeline, a source at the gas giant said, RBC reports.

Shareholders in Nord Stream project are expected to decide on the construction of two new pipelines and whether to draw new shareholders into the project by October 2012, the source pointed out, adding that Gazprom mulled attracting investors for the Russian segment of the projected pipelines.

The source went on to say that all stakeholders were informed of the project, including TNK-BP, but no applications were submitted so far, except from BP.

Earlier, TNK-BP's board of directors had said that it would consider the feasibility of taking part in a project to expand the Nord Stream natural gas pipeline on July 20, 2012.
